Scheduling resources in PWA

Hi experts

I'm new in PWA with some knowledge of MS project for desktop.

I’m trying to schedule some tasks assigning the same resource for all of them. I’m expecting PWA schedule each tasks after another as it happens in desktop project, however I’m no able to get it. My Resources is at 100% capacity.

I see the tasks are assigned to the Resource in the Resource Center however in Capacity planning graphs PWA is not recognizing the assignment because there is the same 8 hrs availability for each day.

Where can a take a look to the configuration required to schedule based on resource capacity?

Best regards

Javier

I just helped a prospective client with this same problem two weeks ago. Like him, it sounds like your Project Online administrator missed an option when setting up your Project Online instance. Please ask him/her to do the following to fix this problem:

    1. Log into PWA with Administrator permissions.
    2. Navigate to the PWA Settings page.
    3. In the Enterprise Data section of the page, click the Reporting link.
    4. On the Reporting page, select the desired granularity of reporting. I personally recommend the Daily setting.
    5. Click the Save button.

Once this is done, open and check out your project again, and then click the Publish button. You should now be able to see your resource's utilization in the Capacity Planning page of PWA. Hope this helps.

      Just one last question
Is it possible to schedule tasks based on resource capacity (like in MS desktop) ?
If I assign three tasks to the same resource for the same day, can PWA change dates for following days?

There isn't a leveling feature built in to PWA Javier, if you want to do that then you can open the PWA project in the desktop application. Another thing you might want to do depending on the tasks is have them linked, which you can do in PWA. They will then happen sequentially (if this makes sense for the tasks) and so the assignment of the same resource to all 3 will not overlap their hours.
        Best regards,
        Brian
