MS Project % Complete Calculations Derived from Actual Work (Costs) Completed and EAC?

Does Microsoft Project have an option (especially one that can be defaulted to) to calculate % complete based on actuals divided by EAC for a given task (which could then also be rolled up to higher levels of indenture) instead of having % complete an "entered" field?

  • Mike_Murphy365,
Simple answer, no. That said, a custom field can be created with a formula to calculate actuals (need to define exactly what that means to you) divided by EAC. If you want that new calculated value to actually appear in the % Complete field, that can also be done with some VBA.

    Hope this helps.

John-project Excellent, thank you!  It would ne nice if this was something hardwired in as an option since I have seen a trend in this "angle-of-attack", especially when objective completion / % criteria are a challenge.  Thanks again.
