    mainze5,
I'm curious, what are you trying to do that requires a formula in a predefined field? If you elaborate on your end goal perhaps we can offer some suggestions.

Hi John-project, to satisfy your curiousness. I have 5 machines which have different predecessor periods and that is why I want to do this.

        mainze5,
Sorry but that doesn't make any sense. What do you mean, "machines which have different predecessor periods"? What are you defining as a "predecessor period"? Are you talking about availability of a machine (work type) resource? Perhaps an example or a screen shot would help us understand what you are trying to do.

Hi John, thanks for your answer. How can I reference a result from a formula in common fields into predefined fields ?

No, it is not possible to create a formula in any of the default fields, like Predecessors, for example. You can only create formulas in custom fields, but those formulas CAN reference the data in default fields. Hope this helps.

Thanks, Dale, for your answer, can you describe how such referencing works ? Regards, mainze5
