End date not rolling back

Hi

The task has progressed ahead of schedule but the end date is not changing accordingly.

For example, Base line start date is 1st oct and base line end date is 10th oct. 

However on 4th oct we have achieved 75% of the progress. I believe, now the end date should have automatically reduced but it is not happening. I am not sure where I am going wrong. 

 

Please help.

    Why would you expect Project to automatically change the task finish date? You make no mention of why the task is ahead of schedule. If it is ahead of schedule because additional resources were added and the task if effort driven, then the finish date and/or time would change. But just declaring task progress, whatever the value, does not change the task duration.
