Cost of a Cost type resource in the Task usage view
Hello everyone,
When putting in the 'Gantt chart view' a certain amount of money in the 'Cost column' of a task assigned to a 'Cost type resource', this cost is not reflected in any cost field (Cost, Remaining cost, Baseline Cost, ...) of the 'Task usage view'.
It seems that the only way to have this cost appearing in the 'Task usage view', is to :
1- right click on the task
2- select the Information dialog
3- go to the Resources tab
4- put the amount in the Cost field
As I have a lot of tasks which I want to assign a cost to, I am looking for the proper and easy way to do so for all the tasks.
My target is finally to get the monthly cost of the overall project (whatever the cost comes from work assigned to 'Work type resource's, or from cost assigned to 'Cost type resources') in the 'Task usage view'.

Click the Task in question and then display the Assign Resources dialog. In the Assign Resources dialog, assign the resource and enter the Cost value for the Cost resource. Click the Assign button. Or assign the Cost resource to the task, then apply the Task Usage view with the Cost table. Locate the task in question. To the right of the assignment for the Cost resource, enter the cost for this resource in the Cost column and then press the Enter key. Either method should work for you. Hope this helps. What version of Project are you using?
This is what I get for a task with both a work type resource and and a cost type resource assigned to a task. Both costs appear as expected in the Task Usage view. How are you assigning the costs?
