Bar Height on Gantt Chart Microsoft Project Professional 2024
I am stumped - I have changed the bar height using Layout>Bars>Bar Height but the change will not reflect on my Gantt Chart - do you have any suggestions

You're right, it's messed up, I see the same problem with my version, Project 2019 Pro. I haven't used that formatting feature for some time so I don't know when it stopped working. Sometimes when an update is released, a seldom used feature gets "damaged" and nobody notices until, well, somebody does. I suggest you submit a request to the Project feedback portal at:

Hi friends, in the updated version I'm using (2502), this no longer happens.

Not quite. I just updated to version 2502 (build 18526.20168 CTR) and the problem still exists. I hope this isn't another one of those cases where an update works for some configurations and not for others.

It seems we have different versions. My version is 2502 (build 16.0.18526.20168) and yours is 2502 (build 18526.20168 CTR), as you mentioned. Apparently, CTR stands for Current Channel - Targeted, which is the channel for testing new features before releasing the final version.
