Exporting Planner

We are looking for an option to be able to export our planner into a pdf that can be printed. Does anyone have any solutions?

I am hunting for a way to print the gantt chart/timeline view... surely there is a print button somewhere?
It cannot BE that i have to take multiple screen shots and plug them into a word doc and try to make them join up/align, as my project timeline is long... ie out of the screen downwards, and also to the right as the timeline extends...

I actually requested this feature from Microsoft over a year ago, and unfortunately the only option they still provide is exporting to Excel—which is really inefficient and adds unnecessary steps to my workflow. I rely heavily on printing my project plans from Project Desktop, where I can control task layout and formatting. It’s honestly frustrating that Planner still doesn’t have a basic “Export to PDF” print option, and that the workaround right now is basically taking screenshots. This should have been built in from the start.

you can export directly to pdf from the Timeline View if you can see it. This does depend on you having the right license.

  • You can export your Microsoft Planner into a format that can be printed. The easiest way is to open your plan in Planner (or via Teams), use the menu to “Export plan to Excel”, then open that Excel file and “Save as PDF” (or print from Excel). If you want to include timeline or board-layout views (rather than just a list), it’s more manual — you could use your browser’s print dialog (or a “Print to PDF” / “Save as PDF” option) when viewing the Planner board or timeline.
