Can't access portfolios solution
We have Planner and project P3. When we try to access My Portfolios from Planner in Teams we get a message that says "Looks like you don't have the latest portfolios solution installed Contact your admin to fix this" I am an admin, but I can't find any way to update portfolios to the latest version.
Has anyone been able to access the portfolios feature? If so, how did you get it to work?
Thanks,
Doug

Everyone struggling with this:
- Open project.microsoft.com
- Click New Plan > Roadmap
- Wait for the spinning wheel
- Porfolios are now enabled tenant-wide
- May need to restart Teams/planner to see the change.

I worked with Microsoft Support and my Microsoft Admin and was able to get it resolved. Microsoft support sent a follow up email below explaining my problem and the solution.
"I was able to work with Microsoft and my Microsoft Admin to get it resolved. Below was the follow up email he sent explaining the issue and the resolution."Since you mentioend on the call that your issue is resolved hence, I’ll be closing your case. I would like to mention that when your case is closed, we can reopen it within 7 days from admin portal and 40 days via email.
Below, you can see the summary of your case for your records.Confirmed Issue: User getting error trying access Portfolios in Planner “You dont have Portfolios solution installed”
Outcome: Found that Roadmap roles were not assigned to the user. Assigned the roles and user was able to access Portfolios in MS Planner.
Go to make.powerapps.com >> click on the gear icon >> Advanced Settings >> Click on drop down next to “Settings” >> Security >> Users >> search for the affected user then click on the box next to the name and click on Manage Roles in the Top pane. A dialog box will open,
Make sure the following roles are assigned to the user:
Portfolio User
Project Common
Project System
Roadmap System
Roadmap user
Note: You need to be a Global Administrator or PowerPlatform Administrator to check and make the changes to a user roles in Project for Web

Thank you so much! Great instructions. Unfortunately Portfolio User, and the two Roadmap Roles aren't listed, but the other one's are. Strange.

I have enabled this feature, and even turned this off for about 24 ours, then back on and still receiving the above error. Anyone have luck with this?

Hi Meet_Sanghvi,
Has there been any update on the solution. We recently got the Planner 3 license but are getting this error. - Alex_RodovCopper Contributor
May need to go ahead and enable the Portfolio capability.
Login to Microsoft 365 admin center
Navigate to Settings: Go to "Settings" and then select "Show All" to access all settings options.
Access Org settings: Select "Org settings".
Select Project: Locate and click on "Project" from the list of services.
Enable Portfolio: Check the box next to "Turn on Roadmap and Portfolio for your organization".Should be deployed to all by now, at least this is my expectations.

Was this resolved? I’m running into the same issue

we had the same experience. it did seem that once I went into Project Online, this issue in Planner was resolved. Can't explain it, but it happened in that order for us.

After a few weeks and contacting Microsoft and trying all of the suggestions on the web without success, it mysteriously started working yesterday. Sorry I don't have a solution to share.
