Question about Silver and Gold Legacy Benefits Renewal
Hello,
During Inspire's session Expert Q&A: Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program: The road ahead, the question was asked - Are Silver and Gold Benefits packages going away? The response was "They are NOT."
So how will that work for a partner who decide to still go with the legacy benefits for one more year?
- What are the Pros and Cons of keeping Legacy Benefits?
- How will it work in FY24 and how will the partner be notified?
- What is the most at lost to a Partner staying with Legacy?
- Will the partner still be able to renew its Specialization - or is a Designation absolutely necessary to do so?
- Can a partner who purchased Legacy benefits last year and who is now currently ENROLLED to the new Designation program renew at anniversary if the required score is no longer at 70? Can there be an exception?
I am lalso ooking for documentation about Renewing Legacy Benefits, but so far I haven't found anything.
Thanking you in advance for your help.

Just to answer a few of your questions, hope it helps in giving some insights.
- What are the Pros and Cons of keeping Legacy Benefits?
--- Pros = cheaper.
--- Cons = can't say you're a Silver/Gold partner anymore, get less IUR benefits, not eligible for Specializations.
- How will it work in FY24 and how will the partner be notified?
--- In Partner Center you can manage your membership. If you're eligible to renew Legacy Benefits you'll see the option to renew it.
Example, we're not eligible anymore as we already have a Designation.
- What is the most at lost to a Partner staying with Legacy?
--- Previously it was assumed that Legacy Benefits would not be eligible for incentives anymore. But this is not the case for FY24 (maybe in the future though). Other losses are the cons listed before.
- Will the partner still be able to renew its Specialization - or is a Designation absolutely necessary to do so?--- Designation is mandatory.
- Can a partner who purchased Legacy benefits last year and who is now currently ENROLLED to the new Designation program renew at anniversary if the required score is no longer at 70?
--- No. Once you've enrolled for a Designation you can't roll back to Legacy Benefits. Designations are the way forward.
- Can there be an exception?
--- probably not, but I'd suggest to contact MS support or your PDM for that.

Thank you for your reply. It is helpful... and appreciated. So if we renew our Legacy Benefits, we can still benefit from what we have now, but we will lose the opportunity to renew our Specialization - unless we find a way to enroll to our Designation again before our Specialization Anniversary date.
Something to bring up to our PDM when the time comes.
