Moving MAPS Benefits
- Feb 21, 2025
Thanks, JillArmour.
I think I've solved the issue by moving the Resource Group from the MCPP Subscription to the Microsoft Partner Network subscription. The trick was to dissociate the public IP from the VM beforehand. I found it was possible to re-associate the public IP after the move (so the IP address remained the same as before and any DNS entries continued to work).
I've since found this link:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/partner-center/benefits/mpn-benefits-azure-cloud#redeem-your-azure-credits which states:
"You can only use the Azure credits provided with a new Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program (MAICPP) purchase, such as a Microsoft Action Pack Subscription (MAPS) or legacy silver/gold, on a new Azure subscription. You can't use the credits on an existing Azure subscription. After you redeem any new Azure sponsorship, you must move all your resources under this new subscription to be able to use the sponsorship credits."
Therefore, I think the only option is to move the Resource Group from the MCCP subscription to the Microsoft Partner Network subscription where the benefits are applied.
