Azure Bulk Credits (Production)
- Apr 28, 2025
Here is their response:
Can't be attached to an existing subscription. We are looking to make improvements in the future to address this issue.
The team responded:
Yes, you can transfer credits.

JillArmourMicrosoft Do you know if the Azure team has made any improvements on this since August? My partner benefits are coming up for renewal in May and it's going to be a huge pain if I have to move everything to a new subscription. If there's a way that Support can transfer the credits to my existing subscription and convert from Pay-as-you-Go to Sponsorship, that would be a huge help.

This is the response I was given:
The partner can apply sponsorship to existing billing profiles as long as the billing profile doesn’t have consumption which falls under one of the excluded categories and they don’t already have active sponsorship on the billing profile. That means they don’t have to create a new billing profile every time.
Please see sponsorship terms here: Azure Sponsorship Offer | Microsoft Azure
“Special pricing does not apply to Microsoft Azure support plans, third-party branded products, products sold through Microsoft Azure Marketplace, or products otherwise sold separately from Microsoft Azure (for example, Active Directory Premium). Tiered pricing does not apply to sponsorship; all services are billed at flat PAYG rates which are utilized through sponsorship credits. You will be responsible for all charges incurred for these services and products.
The Sponsorship offer can’t be combined with other licensing, prepaid, or credit offers (i.e Microsoft Enterprise Agreement, Cloud Solution Partner, Azure in Open, Azure Pass, Action Pack, etc.).”
If they are asking if Azure support can handle sponsorship activation and management for them, and the answer is unfortunately no.
I hope you find their response helpful! - jill
