Sending an email attachment in a calendar invitation in O365 version of Outlook
Ok - I have a question that will require you all to put your thinking caps on. Using Outlook 365 (the web browser version) - I cannot seem to be able to make a calendar invite with an email attachment -- tried right-clicking on the original message and "moving to calendar" - which I can do in my desktop version.
Why is this an issue?
The older versions of the desktop version of Outlook do not have "add a TEAMS meeting" -- So the user needed to make this happen using O365.
Saving the email first, didn't really work in O365, because it wanted to make the message a webpage. We could save as a PDF, but that wouldn't allow access to the attachment inside the original email.
I cannot find that feature to help her anywhere. We did a workaround of saving the attachment and the email separately and then incorporating them into the calendar invitation.
Thoughts?
Hi jhubbard
If I'm understanding correctly, the user wants to forward on an email with an attachment as a Teams meeting request within OWA? I've found something that kind of works, but it's probably just as convoluted as the workaround you have.
In OWA, open the email in question, and on the 3 dots next to the reply/forward icons click and select "Other Reply Actions > Reply All by meeting"
This create a new calendar event with the body of the email, but without the attachment. Go down to the bottom and click on the paperclip, and select "Browse cloud locations"
In the selection window that opens, click on 'recent attachments' in the left hand menu. This shows a list of all of the attachments in emails you have sent a received - the attachments regarding the email in question should be in the list
Select the attachments, then send the meeting invite.
Hope this is helpful. It's a bit fiddly but might work in a pinch.
Best regards,
Mark

HidMov My issue seems to be when I have someone send me an email with emails attached and I need to move them into a meeting invite for reference. When I try to open the email, it loads Outlook Mail but then gives me an error message. I use to be able to drag and drop with the desktop version but I am working strictly on the web version. I need a fast smooth way to include emails in meeting invites or other messages without having to save it and then attach it. Is this possible? and I am looking for guidance.
