Paste content from Outlook Online into Word/Excel

We experience the following issue and would like to know how we can troublehoot:

A user copies content from Outlook Online, when pasting into Excel or Word, the application freezes and an authentication dialog pops up. The user is unable to get passed this dialog using his credentials.
