Outlook won't delete emails

I am using the Outlook App with no issues.

However, this weekend, I added another outlook account that I use to the app and for a while everything was good. Last night I tried to delete 2 emails and everything looked ok, they moved from the inbox to deleted folder. When I logged in again later, the 2 emails were now back in the inbox. I can delete them, but they will re-appear in the inbox when I log back in.

I have also noticed that once I open the app, if I close it down, it won't allow me to open the app again, without logging off and on to my account again.

    Sounds more like mailbox corruption (or issue) that has to be fixed on the server side.

  • Which Outlook app are you having issues with? Outlook desktop Classic? New Outlook desktop? Phone Outlook app? 

    Generally speaking here about anything not working with Outlook, you can try removing the account and adding it back in. It could just need a fresh setup. Sounds like it might be a security issue too because it keeps logging you out.

      Thank you for getting back to me Lisa, I am trying to use the New Outlook desktop. I'm not sure where I can look at the security protocols.

      • Gbman, sometimes with a security update on the account, the phone Outlook app might not work great, you can test security by logging into your account online. And then remove the account from the Outlook app and add it back, that might fix it. Restarting your phone helps too sometimes.
