Outlook New Unable to Create Rule for Copying Sent Emails
I've recently encountered an issue with the new version of Outlook. Specifically, I'm unable to create a rule that allows me to copy any email I send to a specific folder. Has anyone else experienced this problem? There is no option "Sent from me" as it was in the previous version.
- Victor_IvanidzeBronze ContributorThat's by design - the "new" Outlook cannot create rules for the sent messages.
Try to use this freeware: https://www.ivasoft.com/sortaliasessharedflow.shtml
as a base and modify it according your needs. In case anyone is reviewing this post. Here is an update on creating rules for sent emails in New Outlook.
Users can only create rules to manage messages received in the inbox. Microsoft has not yet announced any dates for the functionality of the sent rules. In May 2023, I created a blog covering New Outlook limitations for Sent Rules.

In June 2024, I created a workaround method that will add a copy of your sent message to your desired folder. This method will hold you over until Microsoft rolls out the Sent Rules functionality.

Again, it is a workaround solution. Like you, I am waiting anxiously for this feature.

Hi Teresa_Cyrus,
thanks for your comment. I believe using a flow is a better workaround but at least now people can choose ๐

I agree that "Flow" is a better solution, but many users are uncomfortable using the application. I provided an alternative solution.
I follow you regularly. You are everywhere./T
- Ivan_MamaevCopper ContributorHi! Thanks for the answer, but it doesn't fix my issue. I need to put myself in CC or BCC in any email I send but I need to have automatic copy every sent email to my Inbox folder.
