outlook.live.com not showing external images in messages

I managed to fix this issue without changing to conversation view. I did not even touch any settings in web outlook.
What I did was, set up my email account using the built-in mail client in Windows 10 and let emails load from there first. After that I go back to my web outlook and images load normally for all emails (old and new).
I am not sure if it will still work if we remove the email account from mail client but I am leaving it for now.
