Outlook freezing after 20-30 minutes
Hello, I have a user whose outlook freezes after 20-30 minutes of use. This is a new HP 450 G10 laptop running windows 11 business. All windows updates are completed along with HP driver update...
Hi Nik, is this Outlook Classic or New Outlook?
Some basic troubleshooting tips I offer:
- Is the user's system on a VPN? This can cause slowdown
- Is there AV installed? Many AV products have very tight firewalls and scanning that could cause Outlook to slowdown.
- Are all the Windows and Office updates up to date?
- Did you keep the default download to 1 year if using Exchange or did you download all the email?
- If you're using IMAP, is it still trying to synchronize the email and folders?

Hi Lisa,
New outlook.
No VPN, AV is installed but no other users get this (120+) running the same policy.
Windows and office is up to date.
Didnt touch the downloads so it will be default.
Not using IMAP

Av is installed but we have over 120 users and only 1 is having this issue so safe to say its not the AV.
Windows and office is up to date.
Downloaded email settings were not changed so it is set to the default.
We are not using IMAP.
