Outlook for Android Contact List doesn't properly Sync

This seems like an outright lie! I have never had a clean sync, ever the best I can tell with Outlook for Android and Contact App. . . . Can someone help me better understand the proper method for updated M365 Outlook Contacts from an Android phone? Seems, I make an update, ie: save or update an email address from my contact on my phone, via Update Contact from Outlook for Android and the "syncing" icon shows for a bit. When I check the contact in OWA Outlook or Desktop Outlook, sometimes the email updates, sometimes it is added as a second email to the contact. What am I missing here?
