Outlook 365 suddenly won't open
- Jul 15, 2020
Steven F, original poster here: my Outlook just fixed @ 1:20 Pm pst, I tried it and it opened right up. Hope the same for all of you, maybe 1 at a time! Thanks all.......
Microsoft is pushing out a fix. It is applied simply by closing and reopening Outlook. It may take a few more hours to reach all machines but I have seen it repair several already, as well as others have reported the same.
Many thanks Rob and everyone. Apparently my machine received the fix - Outlook is now working.
Best regards to all.

MikeK145 On the systems where the fix/patch/update was applied for me it wasn't like a standard update. Simply closing Outlook and reopening caused Outlook to check for and apply the fix. No messages about installing or updating. When it opened there was a message box I have not seen before in the top right corner of Outlook stating "Problem Detected" with suggestions but all was working. Makes me nervous that things can get applied, broken, and fixed in the background. Wondering just how much control Microsoft has over our systems.
