Outlook 365 suddenly won't open
- Jul 15, 2020
Steven F, original poster here: my Outlook just fixed @ 1:20 Pm pst, I tried it and it opened right up. Hope the same for all of you, maybe 1 at a time! Thanks all.......
I just removed the update that supposedly "improves outlook security" and I am back up and running. Just wasted the last few hours trying to fix this. Wish microsoft would go back to the old way of doing updates and let us decide how and when to implement Andy D'Hollander
I was having issues; checked for updates; updated; still having issues. It opens then immediately disappears... Has anyone figured out a solution?

I've done this fix for many Office365 & Office 2016 clients:
Elevated command prompt, run "C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ClickToRun\OfficeC2RClient.exe" /update user updatetoversion=16.0.12827.20470

Trying again...
It's doing something this time; it didn't do anything the last time. (I probably entered it wrong).
Crossing my fingers.....
It worked... xoxo 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 Thank you so much!!

Control Panel, click on “Programs and Features”, then “View installed updates”, locate the (KB4565483) Update, right click and choose uninstall. As always you should have a backup of your system before adding or removing updates.
I don't find the KB4565483 to uninstall... ? 😞

Rondia_Uptown I am finding the same on some machines, but Microsoft seems to be pushing out the fix. Closing Outlook and reopening has resolved on most recent machines I have looked at. There is a message box within Outlook stating the problem was detected.

Why do these things always happen on a tax deadline...
