Oct 19 Update

The other day, when the new update was released, my Outlook would not stay open after I clicked it. I have an Outlook 365 account. I used it for my GoDaddy and .edu email, but it stopped working; it says these accounts can no longer be accessed with this Outlook account.

When I checked my programs, I now see Microsoft with French and Spanish (extensions?), and I do not know what is happening. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Microsoft, but it didn't work. HELP Please.

  • One possibility is that the Outlook profile became corrupted during the update process.

Before trying anything more drastic, I would recommend creating a new Outlook profile:

    1. Close Outlook.
    2. Open Control Panel > Mail > Show Profiles.
    3. Select Add and create a new profile.
    4. Configure your GoDaddy and .edu accounts in the new profile.
    5. Set the new profile as the default and test Outlook again.

If the accounts can still be accessed through webmail, that would suggest the issue is not with the mailboxes themselves but with Outlook's local configuration, profile, or authentication settings after the update.

The French and Spanish entries you see in Programs are typically language packs and are unlikely to be related to the account connectivity issue.
