No Notifications for New Emails

I'm having to constantly switch between Outlook for Windows and New Outlook because the new version is missing certain functionality that I need and I wouldn't mind keeping on the regular Outlook for Windows app but for some reason it's not showing notifications for new emails nor the envelope icon. Notifications and envelope icon is ok on the New Outlook so the settings appear to be ok.

I thought there might've been a conflict of some sort between the two versions of Outlook so I uninstalled the new version, restarted the computer and sent a test email from another mail client but still no notification.

Does anyone have any ideas why this might be?
