No longer able to "Find related messages in this conversation" in Outlook Preview
As this post continues receiving views and I recently got a like on the June 4, 2023, post, I wanted to share an update for Find-related Messages users.
Microsoft has rolled out a new Collapse/Expand Conversation feature in grouped conversations. Group conversation includes all messages based on the same subject. However, some users said they prefer not to see all the messages in the conversation thread. With this new feature, you can show or hide the rest of the messages whenever you want.
Here is how it works:
- Enable Group Conversation: View Tab | Conversations | Group into Conversation
- Method 1: While in the Reading Pane or Message List, you can Collapse/Expand the Conversation
View Tab | Collapse / Expand Conversation (Shortcut key, press X) - Method 2: While in the Reading Pane or Message List, click on the collapsed message you want to view
Collapsed View: You can preview the first message, and the others are hidden.
Give it a try. The benefits are:
- You can move the entire message once
- Reduce clutter in your inbox
- No more searching for conversations based on the subject
Let me address and Find Related messages by people. Yes, you can still use the right-click option. Here is an alternative method to locate emails from a recipient,
- Open any email
- Double-click on the person's email address or name
- The profile card will appear with all Inbox messages; select the Message Tab.
I hope this helps you transition to New Outlook. If you found this helpful, mark it as the best response.

I have configured Outlook as per your suggestions and when I am my inbox and I try to search for an e-mail I know exists in a shared mailbox it does not find it. I have tried download shared folders, conversation view the Outlook options menu to select all mailboxes and nothing is found. If I highlight the shared mailbox and search then it works. The trouble is I do not want to have to locate the e-mail in the correct thread in the shared mailbox and then search. I used to be able to search all mailboxes rom my inbox, even if I did not have a mail in my inbox that was from the person or thread I wanted to search for.
The only way I can find e-mails in shared mailboxes is to highlight the shared mailbox and then perform the search. I have 8 shared mailboxes and regularly need to search for e-mails that could be any of them, I used to do that from my inbox now I have to go to each shared mailbox and perform the search and check the results until I find the one I want. Surely this cannot be correct, I though M365 was all about increased productivity, this has certainly decreased my productivity, increased my stress levels and made part of my job a chore rather than a simple action,
I am using latest Windows 10 and Outlook version 2405 build 17628.20188 click to run Monthly Enterprise channel.

I understand your frustration. Microsoft is working on Share Folder improvements. See details in the roadmap. Microsoft 365 Roadmap | Microsoft 365
They have not mentioned searching all accounts at once will be available. You can give Microsoft the feedback.
