New Outlook download to local PST and delete from server

Classic Outlook, automatically downloads email to a local PST file and deletes it from the server using POP3.

New Outlook already has POP3 support and I have read that PST folder support with read/write capabilities is being added soon.

So my question, will New Outlook allow users to have all emails from POP3 automatically downloaded to a PST file, or must they be manually moved from the server to a PST by the user, once PST support is fully implemented?
