Meeting series disappeared in organizers calender

Hi,

This is Sean from Geneva Actions team, and I am writing to ask help for an issue with my calendar. A meeting series are disappeared from my calendar and I am the organizer of this meeting series. Is there a way to get it back rather than create a new series? I don't want to deprecate it because our team has many valuable discussions in that channel. Could you give me some suggestions/instructions on how to fix it?

Thank you very much!

Sean

We have a large number of cases where meetings disappear from the atendee's calendar when they accept the meeting and organizer meetings disappear after they send the invitation.

Workaround is accepting the meeting from OWA. No clear solution to recover the organizer meeting, in some cases it helped to have one of the atendees forward the meeting back to the organizer.

This on top of the meeting conflict issue, it's a nightmare.

What update channel and build are you running?

We see some of the same issues in our enviroment.

Encountered same issue and it's a recurring meeting for large group of ppl. I tried all the above and still did not work.

Even go to the meeting option setting to add "co-organizer", hoping that co-organizer may be able to cancel the meeting while it still does not work.

Really hope this can be fixed soon...

I have the same problem with the new version of Outlook, where meetings randomly disappear from the main Calendar window on my desktop, although they are still present on my mobile and tablets. Microsoft should correct this major bug quickly, as it is causing serious time management issues.

    Sean_Tong,

I had the same issue and I found a way to fix this problem. First I had someone forward the meeting to me, and then while I did not have the option to accept or decline as I was the organiser, I clicked the button to forward the invite and it just appeared in my calendar. (I didn't have to actually forward it to anyone). If someone is able to send you the meeting series, it's better as the past meetings and future meetings will appear too. I'm not sure how this work, but it did for me, so I hope you have some luck as well.

EDIT: I notice this solution makes you appear as an attendee and not the organiser rights to amend or cancel the meeting. It can be fixed by downloading the meeting as an iCalendar (ICS) file, opening it in Notepad (Right click and Open With, selecting Notepad, but don't check the box to always open it in Notepad), and removing your name from the Attendee list. It should still be in the Organiser field, as expected. Save and close the ICS file.

Then, instead of dragging it into Outlook which won't work (it'll open it as a meeting instead, which won't add it to the calendar), you instead have to go to File -> Open/Export -> Import and select the modified ICS file. It'll prompt you to open as a new calendar or use the existing one; choose existing, and it'll pop up in the calendar with you having the organiser rights.

I think it's to do with the fact that clicking Forward adds you to the attendee list despite also being the organiser so the organiser rights are lost when the event is put back in the calendar when you just press Forward.

    Kind Regards
    Sumble.

Thanks to QuietStorm78 and Sumble23 , I asked my colleague to share his calendar with delegate permission or edit permission. Then I can open(add) his calendar in my outlook, to "Copy to My Calendar" under the Actions section. I can see the meetings now, but still without organizer permission.
      ==========
So I double click the meeting item in the calendar, and open the File > Save as to save it as a ICS file, open it to remove my names in the attendee list, and import it into outlook with File > Import/Export after that.

It may have two meeting series now. I delete the first one which I don't have organizer permission, and keep the imported one.

      It works as before now.

Just chiming in to add our organization and three others that I know of are having the same issue. We were also hoping it would clear up with the EX800425 fix but our users are still reporting the problem. In fact, more of them are reporting it this week.

I have them working in OWA right now for calendar management but it is not sustainable.

I can confirm we have this problem with at least two builds. And I can confirm this really kicked off for us about three weeks ago.

Here are some general troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Refresh your calendar: Sometimes, the disappearance of a meeting series can be due to a temporary synchronization issue. Try refreshing your calendar by closing and reopening it or by syncing it manually to see if the series reappears.
    2. Check your deleted items: It's possible that the meeting series was accidentally deleted. Look for the meeting series in your deleted items or trash folder. If you find it there, you can restore it to your calendar.
    3. Search for the meeting series: Use the search functionality in your calendar application to look for the specific meeting series. Enter relevant keywords or the names of participants to narrow down the search. It's possible that the meeting series got moved to a different location within your calendar.
    4. Check other devices and platforms: If you access your calendar from multiple devices or platforms, such as a smartphone, tablet, or web browser, verify if the meeting series is visible on any of these other platforms. It's possible that it's still present on one of them.
    5. Contact your IT support: If you're using an organization-wide calendar system, such as Microsoft Outlook within an enterprise, reach out to your IT support team. They may be able to assist you in recovering the missing meeting series or provide further guidance.
    6. Restore from a backup: If you or your organization regularly back up your calendars, there may be a chance to restore the missing meeting series from a backup. Consult your IT support or system administrator for assistance with this process.

Remember to inform your team members about the issue, so they are aware of the potential loss and can help in finding a solution. Additionally, consider creating a new meeting series or scheduling individual meetings to ensure that your team's discussions can continue even if the original series cannot be recovered.

These are not really addressing the problem. It is a recurring problem, where the meeting the organizer has created is missing only from organizer's meeting. The metting is not deleted, it is still active in participants' calendars, and room resources locked. And the invite in sent folder, but impossible for organizer to accept to get it into calender, since he/she is the organizer. There does seem to be a "bug" somewhere. The meting is gone on all devices and types of devices. So seems like an Exhchange bug.

I agree with Morten_HP. I experience exactly the same problem. I find my own meeting in my "sent" folder but not in the "deleted" folder. I also checked other devices as well as the web application, but without success.

Additionally, I have asked two of the people who received the meeting to forward the meeting to me. I get it in my inbox, but it states that I'm not able to accept the meeting since I'm the organizer.

        Definitely a bug.
