Hi tjrw1
In September 2023, Microsoft shared this image, identifying which features are in progress or planned. PST and offline support are in progress or planned.

Thanks.
Is there any indication of time-scale?
We have one mail box that is 94% full (we keep getting reminders...) but the emails are all required to be kept.
There used to be an option in early New Outlook to Save emails but this seems to have disappeared. Emails were saved into the local Downloads folder as eml files which then loaded into Outlook 365.

- tjrw1Nov 02, 2023Copper ContributorAs it looks as though PST files in New Outlook will be some time, I have found a tedious way round the problem of offline archiving of emails. Our email accounts were all POP accounts which can now only be accessed through a web portal such as New Outlook. All our previous emails are stored in offline PST files with Office 365 Outlook. I have set up a new outlook.com account accessible in both Old and New Outlook. Emails in New Outlook can be forwarded to the new account, opened in Old Outlook, moved to the appropriate account (you can't move emails between accounts in New Outlook) and therefore saved in the local PST file.
It's going to be time-consuming to do this for all the past emails in New Outlook but quite easy for new emails as they come in. - JayFMSTechCommOct 27, 2023Iron ContributorYou can export your "active" PST into an "archive" PST and clean up your active PST. An easy way to get rid of large emails in your active PST is to search for emails with attachments.
As long as Outlook still allows PST, you'll be able to open any of the active or archive PSTs you create.
To export go to File/Open&Export/Import-Export/Export to a file/Outlook Data File (.pst)/
Click on the very top folder in the "folder list to export from." Don't forget to check "Include Subfolders".- tjrw1Oct 27, 2023Copper Contributor"As long as Outlook still allows PST, you'll be able to open any of the active or archive PSTs you create."
That's the point - New Outlook doesn't use PST files.- JayFMSTechCommOct 27, 2023Iron ContributorI apologize. I was thinking about Desktop Outlook that comes with Office.
