Lost access to my O365 account after Outlook update

Hi all

Forced to upgrade to the new Outlook and lost access to my business O365 account. I can login to webmail but keep getting an error when trying to use the Outlook app (screenshot below)

I've tried removing and re-adding the account but same error. Tried rebooting and re-installing the app, still the same.

Anyone able to assist?

  • Hi squidgygoanna,

Can you please try this workaround:
    - Step 1: close all Microsoft 365 Desktop Apps
    - Step 2: logoff from the Windows userprofile
    - Step 3: rename Microsoft.AAD.BrokerPlugin_cw5n1h2txyewy
    "C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.AAD.BrokerPlugin_cw5n1h2txyewy" to
    "C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.AAD.BrokerPlugin_cw5n1h2txyewy.old"
    - Step 4: logon to the Windows userprofile
    - Step 5: start the Outlook Desktop App. This action will recreate the Microsoft.AAD.BrokerPlugin_cw5n1h2txyewy folder

Tried that, it seemed to work but now I'm getting another error:

"This account is not supported in Outlook for Windows due to the license provided by your work or school. Try to login with another account or go to Outlook on the web."

From a quick google search it appears that many others are having the same issue with new Outlook
