Logging into outlook.com

Hi

Is anyone else stuck in a redirect loop on outlook.com?

I go to outlook.com, enter my email address and password.  The blue envelope pops up, sits there for a few seconds, and then redirects to https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/microsoft-365/outlook/email-and-calendar-software-microsoft-outlook

I then click on one of the login links/buttons and do the same and it ends up back in the same place.  Sometimes I will get a 403 (which is weird!), and then some other times it will log into my email, so the credentials are ok, and the account is not locked.  This has only started to happen in the last couple of weeks.

I have tried clearing all website data, loading incognito and the same thing happens in both cases.

Anyone else experiencing this?

    Hey Tony,

Yeah, I've seen a few people mention similar issues recently. It could be a caching issue on Microsoft's end or something buggy with their redirects. Since you've already tried clearing data and incognito mode, maybe try a different browser or device to see if it still happens? Also, check if any extensions or VPNs might be interfering. Hope it sorts itself out soon!

      Hey rogerreed,

Thanks for a useful response.  Good to know I am not alone with this issue ;)

I've just tried logging in using Edge (which I never use) and it does the same.  This is on a work laptop, with a VPN, but I am not connected to it at the moment.  It was working fine until about a month ago, but then the redirect loop kicked in, so I think you are right, it is something MS's end, which is fantastic.  Guess I just have to wait for them to read this, or get so many complaints that someone looks into it, and it gets fixed

Steps to sign in to Outlook.com
    1. Visit the website: Open your browser, type in Outlook.com and go to the login page.
    2. Enter your account information: Enter your email address (e.g. email address removed for privacy reasons) and password on the login page and click the “Login” button.
    3. Authentication: If dual authentication is enabled, you will be asked to enter a verification code (sent via SMS or email) or use the Microsoft Authenticator app to authenticate.
    4. Access Mailbox: After successfully logging in, you will be taken to the main screen of your Outlook mailbox, where you can check your mail, manage your calendar and use other features.
    5. Problems: If you can't sign in, you can reset your password by clicking “Forgot your password” or contact the Microsoft support team for assistance.

Thanks for the response TannerBlaze, but credentials is not the issue.

I do steps 1-3, get the envelope gif on the screen, and then the browser redirects back to https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/microsoft-365/outlook/email-and-calendar-software-microsoft-outlook

I then click the sign in link in the top right of that page, it goes to the envelope gif again (no need to enter credentials again), and then back to the URL above.   After multiple times of doing this, I then get presented with another screen asking me which account I want to log in with, where it shows my account, with the words "Logged in" under it.  I click on that option, and then it takes me to my inbox.  So it is not a credential issue, as I only get asked to enter them once
