Inbox Emails disappears on laptop after reading on desktop

Hi,

I've encountered a problem of emails from my inbox not appearing in my laptop when I opened outlook and read them on my desktop. However, when I open outlook and check the emails on my laptop and proceeds to checking my email on my desktop, the emails do not disappear. Has anybody encountered similar issues or knows how to resolve this issue?
