IMAP connection error INVALIDCREDENTIALS
I am trying to add my external IMAP mailbox from my hosting provider (Easyhost.be) to the new Outlook app / Outlook.com.
However, when I try to add this mailbox to my domain 'vinedo.be', I immediately receive the error message: INVALIDCREDENTIALS INTERACTIONREQUIRED.
In the classic Outlook desktop app, the account works immediately via IMAP with exactly the same password. Everything also works perfectly with the Outlook app on an Android smartphone.
There appears to be an incorrect tenant attribution or cache in the background of the Microsoft Cloud that is internally blocking authentication for the domain vinedo.be.
Could you clear the cache/tenant attribution for the domain vinedo.be so that the IMAP connection is routed externally again?
The mailbox email address removed for privacy reasons was hosted by Gandi.net until recently. This is presumably causing the problem.

Hi MVdM, INVALIDCREDENTIALS usually means the IMAP server is rejecting the login method, not necessarily that the password is typed wrong. Check whether Easyhost requires an app password, SSL/TLS on the right port, or username as the full email address. Also test the same mailbox in classic Outlook or Thunderbird. If it works there but not in new Outlook or Outlook.com, the provider may not accept Microsoft's cloud-based IMAP connection flow.

Hi, I experienced the same issue myself with only one cPanel IMAP email account after changing its password. It does not work with any of the new Outlook apps tested across several devices, but it works in other email clients such as Outlook Classic and Thunderbird. The strange thing is new outlook app accepts other email accounts that are using the same domain and the server. I suspect that something is wrong with outlook cloud and this happened after changing the email password(password is correct as tested with webmail, outlook classic and thunderbird).
