I need to return to my classic Outlook. I need to turn off new toggle. I can't. Help
I obviously am not computer literate but I must get back to the classic Outlook. I have had my company email for years and it has the name of our company. The directions to get from the new Outlook to the classic are confusing. Please help if you can.
Thanks

NebilSedki go here:
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\ClickToRun\REGISTRY\MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Eventlog\Application\Outlook
use Regedit.exe in search open app then copy and paste above source into title bar, press enter, then double click version and change value to "c" no quotations choose ok. make sure outlook is currently closed, then attempt to open outlook from the icon without the 'new' attached to it, i.e., use the old outlook shortcut. It should open in classic view for you from now on and not prompt change to new outlook anymore.

Doesn't work for me. That darned "new version" still starts no matter what I do.
Is classic Outlook installed? If you type Outlook on the start menu, do you see two Outlooks, with different icons?

To switch back to Classic Outlook, try these simple steps:
1. Open Outlook: Log in to your account.
2. Settings: Look for a gear icon on the upper right side of the page and click it.
3. View All Outlook Settings: At the bottom of the settings menu, there should be an option to view all settings.
4. Mail Tab: Find the 'Mail' tab in the settings menu.
5. Layout or Version: Search for a section named 'Layout' or something similar. There might be an option to switch back to the classic version of Outlook.
6. Toggle Off: If there's a toggle for the New Outlook, switch it off.Hope you can get back to classic outlook now !!

I cannot read my old outlook e-mails with the New Outlook. Help
- CMAPman870Copper ContributorWhen you make the switch from Classic Outlook to New Outlook, it creates a new application called "Outlook New" or 'New Outlook."
Just go to Settings ---> Apps and uninstall New Outlook. Uninstalling New Outlook will not affect anything related to your emails in Outlook, since Outlook is a just an email client.
Once you remove New Outlook, Classic Outlook will become the default version.- dferron2Copper Contributor
"New Outlook" does not appear in my apps. Only "Outlook"

Solution worked, no idea why new outlook became a default but it locked me out of accounts... keep it classic Microsoft...

I have tried this many times, whenever I turn on my system I have to do this step every time, is there any permanent solution? How can I remove this pathetic New Outlook app?

As microsoft choose to force this on paying customers and will continue to do so if you attempt to uninstall it, you have to forcibly remove the software from your endpoint.
The way to do this is as follows:
run this 'new outlook' on your computer.
go to task manager and find the 'new outlook' process running. make sure that you do not have any other outlook like classic outlook running or you may delete this instead.
right-click on the new outlook process and select "open file location".
this will open a new explorer window with the location of the new outlook application on your hard drive. save this location as a shortcut or a link so that you can get back to it in future.
the file that is the new outlook executable is called 'olk.exe'.
restart your computer in safe mode. as soon as you are in safe mode, go to the location of the file olk.exe - the location that you should have saved earlier.
delete this file.
restart your machine back into normal mode.
this deletes the 'new outlook' software and stops it from running. the icon will still be present in start menu but this cannot be accessed by microsoft for any purpose because the software has been deleted.
this also prevents them reinstalling this if you attempt to uninstall it through their operating system.
behaviour exhibited by windows and outlook after this forced removal includes an error message showing every single time that classic outlook is attemptedly opened. this comes from the vendor attempting to force the user to change to their 'new outlook', because their operating system tries to reroute any attempt to open the classic outlook executable which is titled "OUTLOOK.EXE" to this new 'software'. in this specific case the 'OK' link is selected and classic outlook opens just fine thereafter.
Obviously: it needs to be said that you take full responsibility for any modifications that you make to the software on your own computer and you attempt the process outlined above entirely at your own risk.

NebilSedki Try this if you're looking for what I think you are (and what I was):
In Outlook, click on the File menu and then select Options int eh Lower Left of the screen/window.
In the Options window, select Advanced from the bottom area of the list on the left.
In Advanced, immediately below where it wants you to Customize Outlook Panes in a checkbox to "Show Apps in Outlook".
Uncheck that box and restart Outlook like it says you need to.
- Reese78Copper ContributorThese steps definitely work: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/toggling-out-of-the-new-outlook-for-windows-preview-ec102b39-5727-418e-ae1f-a1805434640c
Going back to classic Outlook for Windows
If you toggled into the new Outlook for Windows preview from classic Outlook for Windows, every time you try to launch classic Outlook for Windows you'll be redirected to the new Outlook for Windows preview. You can go back to classic Outlook for Windows by selecting the toggle in the new Outlook for Windows app.
If for some reason you don’t see a toggle in the new Outlook for Windows, try these troubleshooting steps:
Make sure you try to launch classic Outlook for Windows from the Windows Start Menu, not the new Outlook for Windows. The new Outlook for Windows has a “New” tag on its app icon. For classic Outlook, select the icon without a “New” tag.
From the Windows Start Menu, type “Registry Editor” in the search box and select the Registry Editor app.
Navigate to the following path: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Preferences
Scroll to the bottom of the list to and double click on UseNewOutlook.
Enter 0 in the Value Data field.
