How do I get Outlook to select the newest email in a folder?

I have my emails shown as conversations. The emails sorted from newest to oldest (newest at the top). But whenever I go to a folder, Outlook always selects/highlights my oldest email at the bottom. I want it to select the newest email instead.

It works fine if the email conversations are in my main Inbox (it will select the newest email). But all folders I've made under the main Inbox doesn't work correctly.

    Hi nights2110

this happens because you custmized the view on the inbox folder only.

you can create a view setting and apply this setting to all folders.

Hi. I've applied the settings to all folders and sub folders, but I'm still having the problem.
