Focused inbox disappearing

I searched and found some older questions, but they all focus on reinstalling Office or inviting me to install 365, which doesn't help, since I don't have this stuff.  The problem is the same as before, though.  I've lost all of 2021 and so far in 2022.  Is there a way to opt out of focused and just merge everything together?
