Exported .pst loses a year of mail?

I want to migrate my website to a new hosting provider (need a new site anyway as K2 won't work with Joomla 5).

To keep my mail, it appears my only option is to use an IMAP client, e.g. Outlook.

I want to export my mail as .pst, set my account to the new mail server, and import the .pst.

But every time I attempt this and import the .pst, I lose exactly 1 year of mail. Nothing after early March 2024 appears.

I have no idea why.

    (note to the mod team, I'm wondering why I'm on approval for this forum? My replies don't get approved for days later and I'm missing helping people.     Outlook, by default, only keeps a limited amount of recent emails offline when using IMAP. Older emails stay on the server and might not get included in the .pst export.

    🔹 Check Cached Exchange Mode Settings:

    1. Open Outlook.
    2. Click File → Account Settings → Account Settings.
    3. Select your email account and click Change.
    4. Check the Mail to keep offline slider—if it's set to 1 year, that’s why older emails are missing.
    5. Move the slider to All (this will force Outlook to download all mail).
    6. Wait for Outlook to sync, then re-export.
