E-mail rule to delete spam does not work
- Sep 25, 2023
Hi abroes ,
Thank you for your response.
Next check if rules really been triggered. For example create a test rule to delete email from just specific sender to see if it works(Note: does this InPrivate/incognito windows). And , if you are very sure of the domain are send junk email you can use Junk > Block sender/domain.Also, if you have Outlook desktop app, use to to create a new rule and see if issue still persist.
I look forward to you next response.
Regards,
Hi, from my understanding, your rule would have worked IF the email was going into your INBOX.
From several searches I've been doing recently, I'm time and again finding Microsoft's Junk Filtering overrides any rules that Users create.
You would need to 'unblock' the email address if you have already marked it as Junk - Block Sender. This unfortunately means marking it as a 'Safe Sender' which to me doesn't make sense if just want to 'unblock' but that's the only option that Microsoft offer currently.
With that nuisance email address now going to Inbox, your original rule to delete it will now work, and the email will automatically / immediately go straight to deleted items and you will never see it.
Now I am trying to figure out ruling to permanently delete (double delete) from the Deleted Items, so will never have to see the nuisance emails, ever 😉
