Deleting Draft Emails

In the New Outlook for the past few months I have NOT been able to delete draft emails in my deleted folder.  I have tried various ways suggested to remove them but unfortunately they are still there.  I know 4 emails does not seem like much but the fact they are still there and will not delete permanently is unusual.

I have deleted the account and program from y computer and then restarted and reinstalled program/email.

Unfortunately they are still there and will not delete.

Any help in resolving this would be appreciated.

Thanks,

I just stumbled on something that fixed this for me. The only place my deleted drafts kept reappearing was on my computer. If using Outlook on both my iPhone and iPad, the deleted drafts did not keep coming back. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Outlook multiple times trying to fix this, so this time instead of just deleting from my computer, I chose the option of also removing it from all my other devices. Once I did this I had to reinstall on all three, but now the deleted drafts are gone and have stopped reappearing. So, if you are using Outlook anywhere else, try this method. Good luck!

I have searching for the fix for this for months and it’s driving me crazy. None of the steps listed here or anywhere else work. The email account is a Gmail account and I can log in online and even on my phone and the email is not there. Only in Outlook.

I have not reviewed any of the previous suggested fixes. However, try hitting the Sync button.

That doesn't work. The only thing that finally worked for me was to remove Outlook from all devices, not just the desktop and then to a full reinstallation.

Nothing suggested has worked to permanently remove these draft emails.  Is there a fix in an update that can resolve this issue?

Same issue. Nothing works to allow permanent deletion of 4 draft emails from Deleted Folder in the NEW OUTLOOK. I went to Outlook.com to delete from there as you suggested, but none of my emails are there. Not my emails, calendar, or people.

How do I get Outlook.com to recognise my Account and emails?

I also tried a few or your other suggestions that I could understand, but no success.

    Any other advice is appreciated.

While it's uncommon for emails to persist in the Deleted Items folder after being permanently deleted, let's explore some additional steps to address this persistent issue:

    1. Deep Dive into Outlook Settings:

Check AutoArchive Settings: Ensure that your AutoArchive settings are configured to automatically delete items older than a certain age.

Review Rules: Look for any rules that might be preventing the deletion of emails.

    2. Utilize Outlook's Search Function:

Precise Search: Use advanced search terms to pinpoint the draft emails. For instance, you might try "is:draft AND from:me" to find drafts you've created.

Bulk Delete: Once you've identified the drafts, select them all and delete them.

    3. Leverage Outlook's Web App:

Web Based Access: Log into your Outlook account through a web browser.

Manual Deletion: Manually delete the draft emails from the Deleted Items folder.

    4. Consider a Clean Install:

Backup Important Data: Before proceeding, back up any critical data.

Uninstall Outlook: Completely remove Outlook from your computer.

Reinstall Outlook: Install the latest version of Outlook and reconfigure your email account.

If none of these solutions work, it might be worth investigating potential issues with your email server or account settings.

    Hope this helps!

I tried all these things suggested above and still I have 4 Draft emails in deleted folder in New Outlook that will not delete.  I delete New Outlook and restarted. I then reinstalled program with no success. They are still there.
