Can't edit contact in Chrome browser

When I go to https://outlook.office.com/people/ to see my contacts using Google Chrome on Windows 10, there is an edit button for the contact, but nothing happens when I click it.  If I use the Edge browser, it works fine.

  • Hi! I was having the same problem until I realized why. Outlook for web uses a popup window for contact editing. I noticed that when I went over to Edge to edit my contacts. By default, Google Chrome blocks pop-ups from automatically showing up on your screen. I added an exception for https://outlook.office.com to allow popups. Worked like a charm after restarting Chrome. FYI - Restart is absolutely necessary for change to take effect. Instructions for finding this setting are on the web here:

If link doesn't work search in Chrome for popups and redirects and it should be listed at or near the top of the search results. IMHO it's pretty frustrating that outlook on the web has to be all cute about using a popup window for updating contacts.

    Hope this works for you!
  • I have the same issue in Chrome and also in Brave browser. Also, can confirm Edge as a work around.

This doesn't appear to solve the issue in Brave, unfortunately. 😞

Deleted Sorry to hear that. Out of curiosity, I installed Brave on a separate PC (clean install without plugins - never had Brave installed previously) and went directly to Outlook for web. I was able to edit a contact in the popup window without making any changes to the default browser settings. Maybe a clean install of Brave would help you get back to good? Just a thought... I'm by no means a technical expert on this stuff. Just curious and persistent... 😉
