Hi, I just downloaded the new Outlook app to try and I don't see a way to collapse all groups nor could I find anything in the help menu. Is this not possible with the new version? I have a lot of email in my accounts so this is concerning and I'm hoping that I'm just missing something. Since this will likely be a mandatory upgrade I would like to know. Thanks in advance.

May 2025, and this feature is still not availaible. That's the only reason why I'm not switching to the "new" MS Outlook...

The New Outlook is pathetic. The resend this message option was missing which they included & now the collapse buttons appear & disappear at random. Except for older messages all others have collapse buttons but they go missing off n on. Very frustrating. prefer to use old outlook.

LaurieB_2324 CoPilot told me it was possible via the "View Settings" menu. The button referenced did not exist and the source article was from 2014. Thanks CoPilot. I'm adding myself to the list of peoples who's workflow is destroyed by the new Outlook. This is very basic functionality that pretty much every other mail client has, including the old version of outlook. Hopefully we are not too far off because I would love to be getting some value from my copilot license which only works in this version of outlook.

That's just dumb and unacceptable. I'm forced by Microsoft to use New Outlook because I can no longer add new accounts on old Outlook. But they've taken away so much basic functionality. What a bunch of so and so's.

Collapse all Groups does NOT work in New Outlook. WHY switch to an app that has missing functionality?

roblinb sad but true--no option to Expand/Collapse all as well as no more email deletion right clicking the Group. More clicks and worse user experience. From Microsoft????? THEY should be the example!!!!

Yeah, MS needs to add this feature to the ribbon. I'm going back to the older version.

  I don't have the luxury of going back to the older version. Microsoft has made it so that I can't add new accounts on the older version and I recently got a new work account so I'm forced to use New Outlook, which would be fine if it wasn't so buggy. You'd think they'd at least do a like-for-like functionality check before releasing it. So annoying.

    Yeah, I'd go back to the old one, but all my templates for emails disappeared in the old one. Also, all the delayed emails I have for the next year (41 messages) don't even show up in the new outlook. They are only in the classic, but the one I created in the new isn't in the classic, so I'm out of luck, I guess.

roblinb Try going to View Settings, then Group and at the bottom of the window is the Expand/collapse defaults droop down list. One option is 'All collapsed'. Hope that helps.

    jbowers This is so very frustrating to think you are getting everything new and improved, but something as simple as expand/collapse for emails is not an option :o(. Thank you jbowers for posting your issue because otherwise I would still be looking for a way to get this fixed.
