365: navigation bar change to the far left - to revert just switch off "coming soon" button

This makes absolutely NO sense at all. Recently clicked the coming soon button to on, then spent the next hour trying to figure out how to move/adjust the navigation pane. It gets moved to the far left, with a bunch of wasted space under it. And no options to move it, just stuck there.

Is UI design team now smoking weed on the job? Drinking maybe? Both?

I can't even comprehend the meeting where someone said this is a great idea, and team all nodded in agreement. At LEAST give us the option to move it around?

I have to agree, Spent time trying to find how to get the pane back to where it belongs for me.. If you want to give us the option to move it, so be it.. but force placement is asinine.

I agree, give us the option to put it back on the bottom. I do not have the "coming soon" button enabled and my view is set to normal however I still can't get the navigation pane back to the bottom. I can't for the life of me figure out what the logic was for this move. Totally inconvenient, hard to see and a now the screen is compacted even more for viewing. Totally not a fan, put back the option to move the navigation pane to the bottom. If any one knows of any other way to get the bar to the bottom please let me know.

Before making major changes to the appearance of outlook how about polling us to see what we want and need?   This toolbar on the left side absolutely STINKS!   I had to readjust my margins to account for the loss of width.   Not to mention that it's not easy on the eye.   I do not work left to right and I do not read left to right.  Took bars should be on the top or the bottom.   AND....we should have the option to more them where we like them.   Microsoft you screwed up this one and you need to fix it.

I ABSOLUTELY HATE MS. I WAITED AN HOUR TO SPEAK WITH A TECH WHO WAS CLUELESS AS TO THIS. EVERY TIME THERE IS A CHANGE, ITS A CHANGE FOR THE WORSE.... MAKES ME WANT TO SWITCH TO APPLE MORE THAN EVER.

    Hi smoovg and others,

For those who don't have the 'Try it now'-option, try one of these steps below:

    1. Open Outlook
    2. Press on the 'Apps'-icon and select 'Options':
    3. The 'Outlook options' pop-up shows up, remove the checkmark at 'Show Apps in Outlook':
    4. Restart Outlook and you're done

    or

    1. Open Outlook and press on the 'File'-tab
    2. Go to 'Options'
    3. Press on the 'Advanced'-tab
    4. Remove the checkmark at 'Show Apps in Outlook':
    5. Restart Outlook and you're done

Good luck and don't forget to hit solved ğŸ˜Š:hundred_points:

This solved the issue. Such a simple fix, I wonder why Microsoft couldn't give us that answer. Brilliant, thanks so much.

Chief_ Thank you so much.   This randomly changed for me a coupe of weeks ago and I had no idea what had happened. It irked me badly. You have saved me hours of annoyance.

I also had that "coming soon" feature. but once the change is made that button goes away and you do not get that option anymore.

I am so sick of these "upgrades" that practically require an engineering degree to navigate. When does this constant consumer manipulation end? First MS improves something that no one asked for and treats it like an upgrade, then they promote it like its the best thing since sliced bread, then then tell you your upgrade will now cost more because of all the wonderful things it can do that no one asked for it in the first place. Apparently the era of consumer-demand driving improvement is over, (there was no consumer-demand to change the navigation bar from horizontal to vertical,) and the era of corporate greed driven by pseudo consumer demand is now their business model.

Microsoft is trying hard to ignore the customer. Where is the tech that can undo this change in the next update?
I can at least sleep well at night knowing AI is going to take away jobs from these hackjob UI designers and committees that turn out this crap. As much as I don't like it, the users hate it more!
