Will the date of a photo change when adding it to a folder?
- Mar 14, 2024
Seabuck2 I found a solution!
Right click on the photo in the File Explorer location (you can choose multiple photos), choose Properties, select Details, click Date Taken, change the date to correct date (or near estimate). Photos will show as correct date but the time cannot be changed. If you selected multiple photos the time will be the same on all (you can go into Onedrive Photos and edit the time) I name my photos by YMD so easy to know what date to use. Now my photos are the correct year on Onedrive by actual date taken!
Seabuck2 It is so annoying! I sync Google Photos and Onedrive. I also save photos to my laptops Onedrive folder. The photo date will change to the uploaded date when saving to Onedrive Photos. I just had to manually change the DATE on Onedrive Photos so that my photos would be displayed as Date Taken and easier to find. Clearly my photo was 20070701 but it drops into Onedrive as 20240314! Now the photos that "uploaded" as todays date are now in the correct location on Onedrive as 2007. I do what Mike said but it is time consuming and I !haven't found a method to change the DATE on multiple photos. Atleast Google Photos has an option to change Date/Time and the photos are correct date taken when scolling through photos. Also remember that if you change a file name of the photo Onedrive will save it as that, not overwrite so you may end up with many duplicates that will also appear on Google Drive if you sync to that. LOL. I'm working through a mess!
