Transplant onedrive "index" of files on shortcut that points to a 4TB sharepoint library
I have a new migration project that involves uploading a large company shared folder to sharepoint. Users want to use onedrive and I am trying all the methods to stop them truley syncing the library and filling their drives. I was doing a test of a library shortcut and files on demand. Onedrive sees the shortcut and creates an index of what is on the library. With over 4TB, this took some time. I wondered if this index that onedrive creates can be copied and used as a a seed on other machines that will have the same shortcut, speeding up deployment.
It looks like most of the activity is in AppData\Local\Microsoft\OneDrive\settings\Business(X). With three files getting most of the action.
There is a dat file, syncenginedatabase.db and syncenginedatabase.db-wal.
Does anyone know if any of this is transportable to another machine, so the initial sync is much more limited?
My initial index of the over 4TB shortcut reports only using 200KB on disk. But the three files I mentioned above total 1.9GB.
