Shouldn't we make a universal platform for our AI's to communicate on?

If my cortana could get a record from your alexa or vice/versa so that when we need to leave note's for the team it wouldn't matter what platform their service ran on because our assistants could take  care of the headache of crossplatforming......perhaps......food for thought?
