An update: I had contacted MSoft for help about this, and after quite a few emails back and forth this is what they replied (this fits with NikolinoDE's helpful reply):

"We would like to inform you that we have received an update from our concerned team regarding the search issue you are currently experiencing. They have confirmed that this is an ongoing issue, and multiple users have reported similar behavior. Please be assured that our engineering team is actively working to identify and implement a resolution.

At this time, we regret to inform you that we do not have an estimated timeline for when the fix will be available. We understand the inconvenience this may cause and sincerely appreciate your understanding.

*As this has been identified as a known ongoing issue, we will proceed with closing this case for now. In the interim, as a workaround, we recommend using the default search functionality within your File Explorer (Windows) or Finder (Mac) to search your files. Or you may manually locate and access the file. We understand that this is not an ideal solution and deeply appreciate your patience and understanding while we work towards a resolution."
