Problem with Docusign inn
Hello,
I have been using Microsoft 365 Family with Word Online and OneDrive for a long time, and the "Request Signature" feature worked perfectly until the last three months.
Now, every time I click Request Signature, I receive the following error: "We couldn't connect to the ‘{0}’ catalog server for this add-in."
I found your announcement about the retirement of the Legacy DocuSign for SharePoint integration, and I'm trying to determine whether this is the cause of the issue.
My questions are:
- Is Microsoft 365 Family still supported for the Request Signature feature in Word Online?
- Do I need to migrate to Microsoft 365 Business to continue using this feature?
- If so, which Microsoft 365 Business plan do you recommend, and will my current DocuSign account continue to work after the migration?
I have already cleared my browser cache, signed out and back in, and tested different browsers, but the issue persists.
Thank you for your assistance.

You do not need to buy Microsoft 365 Business. Your Family subscription is fine. The problem isn't your plan or your DocuSign account—it's a broken connection between Word Online and the add-in.
What Actually Happened
The old "Request Signature" button you were using is being retired by Microsoft. It broke, and now Word can't find it, showing the “catalog server” error.
The Fix (What to Do Now)
You need to delete the old button and install the new one.
- Open Word Online.
- Go to Insert → Add-ins.
- Click My Add-ins. If you see DocuSign there, remove it.
- Now go to the Store tab, search for "DocuSign for Word", and Add it.
- The button will now appear under Insert > Add-ins. Sign in with your existing DocuSign account, and it will work.
If the error comes back: Try an InPrivate/Incognito browser window, or make sure your browser allows "third-party cookies." The add-in needs this to sign you in.
Bottom line: Your DocuSign account still works. Your Microsoft 365 Family plan still works. You just need to replace the broken, old button with the new one.
