OneDrive sync issue, when is syncing read-only files
I have an OneDrive sync issue, when is syncing read-only files.
All users have Office 365 E3 licenses, on SharePoint document library is shared an folder and are set access permissions:
User1 - has full access;
User2 - has read-only access.
This folder is synced to local computer(Sync SharePoint files and folders ).
Scenario 1.
- User2 opens the file locally from their workstation from the OneDrive for business folder. The file opens with Read-only rights.
- User2 reviews and closes the file. OneDrive does not get any sync issue.
Scenario 2.
- User2 on computer2 opens the file locally from their workstation from the OneDrive for business folder. The file opens with Read-only rights.
- Meanwhile User1 on computer1 opens the file locally from their workstation from the OneDrive for business folder. The file opens with editing rights.
- User1 on computer1 edits the file and closes the file. OneDrive does not get any issues.
- User2 on compter2 closes the file. OneDrive throws out the sync error!
Issue is that OneDrive cannot overwrite read-only file, which was cashed.
On OneDrive version 22.022.0130.0001 everything works fine, but on 22.077.0410.0007 there are sync issues.
