Onedrive stuck at "Uploading, xxx files and x.x GB remaining (0%)"

Onedrive stuck at "Uploading, 141.379 files and 1.6 GB remaining (0%)". Nothing happens anymore. Restart has no effect. and this definitely accounts for more than 0% of my OneDrive of 5GB. Using Windows 11

  • Your 5 GB quota and the “0%” indicator measure different things: 0% is transfer progress, not storage used. The important detail is the queue of 141,379 files. Microsoft recommends no more than 300,000 synced items for optimum performance and says large batches can remain in “syncing” or “processing changes” for a long time, so this may be slow rather than stopped.

Open the OneDrive cloud icon, pause syncing, then resume. Check the activity list for the first blocked item, correcting any invalid filename or overlong path, and confirm free space on OneDrive’s website. If the item count does not change, run %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset, then start OneDrive again. Microsoft states a reset does not delete files, but it rebuilds sync state and may require reselecting folders. If it still remains at 0%, test a small folder separately and contact OneDrive support with the client version and logs.
