OneDrive Login Issue Persisting for Over 2 Weeks

Hello Community,

We are experiencing an issue where a user is unable to sign in to OneDrive. The problem has been ongoing for more than two weeks, and despite extensive troubleshooting, the issue remains unresolved (error screenshot attached).

Troubleshooting performed so far:

  • Unassigned and reassigned the Microsoft 365/OneDrive licence.
  • Re-granted the required permissions.
  • Attempted sign-in using an InPrivate/Incognito browser session.
  • Reset the user's device.
  • Cleared browser and OneDrive application cache.

Unfortunately, the user continues to receive the same error after performing all the above steps.

Has anyone encountered a similar issue or can suggest additional troubleshooting steps? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated, as the issue is impacting the user's ability to access OneDrive.

Thank you in advance for your support.

  • The screenshot says “You can’t access this site” and “You don’t have permission,” so this is an authorization or OneDrive-site provisioning problem, not simply cached sign-in data. Reinstalling the client will not fix tenant permissions.

Have an administrator confirm the account is not sign-in blocked and its license has SharePoint Online enabled. In SharePoint administration, verify the user may create a personal site and that the OneDrive site exists and finished provisioning. Run the Microsoft 365 “Check SharePoint User Access” diagnostic for that user and site.

If the account was deleted and recreated, or its UPN changed, a site-user ID mismatch is possible. Use Microsoft’s diagnostic or support-assisted repair rather than deleting the site. Review Entra sign-in logs for policy failures. If unresolved, open support with the OneDrive URL, user object ID, screenshot, correlation or request ID, and exact UTC occurrence time.
