How to see photo's and movies in the create-date order in OneDrive Photo
I moved all photo's and movies from Google Photo to OneDrive. However, movies from 2016 are listed first, whatever I try. It seems that there is a sort, but I cannot find that button. There is only a timeline on the right, but that one is bricked as well (showing movies that are CREATED in 2016 on top, in the 2024 section). OneDrive Photo is so STUPID to sort video's based on upload date? How stupid is that? I start to believe I can better stay with Google Photo .... Or anyone tell me how sort normal.

- djdehaanCopper ContributorI believe Exif is not embedded in .mp4 movies, is it? Do you imply that it sorts on Exif? And is there any possibility to sort on creation date (which ís available in mp4 :-))?

You're correct Mixtral says:
1. EXIF (Exchangeable Image File) is a format that stores metadata in image files, like JPEGs.
2. MP4 is a multimedia container format, often used for videos.
3. The excerpt states that EXIF data is not embedded in an MP4 file.
4. This means that additional information, such as camera settings or GPS coordinates, is not stored in the video file.
5. It's important to note that EXIF data is not typically used or relevant for MP4 files.
Maybe there is some information try:

On OneDrive Web:
Sign In: Go to the OneDrive website (onedrive.live.com) and sign in with your Microsoft account.
Navigate to Photos:
- Click on "Photos" in the left-hand menu. This will display all your photos and videos.
Sort by Date:
- By default, OneDrive displays photos by date. However, you can ensure they are sorted by create date by clicking on the "Sort" option (usually represented by a dropdown menu or an icon with arrows).
- Select "Date taken" or "Date created" from the dropdown options. This will sort your photos and videos in the order they were taken or created.
On OneDrive Mobile App (iOS/Android):
Open the App: Launch the OneDrive app on your mobile device and sign in if you haven't already.
Navigate to Photos:
- Tap on the "Photos" tab at the bottom of the screen.
Sort by Date:
- Photos are typically shown by date taken by default. If you want to confirm or change this, look for a sorting option, which might be represented by three vertical dots (more options) or a filter icon.
- Choose "Sort by" and select "Date taken" or "Date created".
On OneDrive Desktop App:
The OneDrive desktop app syncs your photos and files with your computer's file system, so you can use your computer's file explorer to sort photos and videos.
Open File Explorer:
- Navigate to your OneDrive folder in File Explorer.
Go to Photos Folder:
- Find the folder where your photos and videos are stored.
Sort by Date:
- Right-click in an empty space within the folder and select "Sort by".
- Choose "Date taken" or "Date created". If these options are not available directly, you can click on "More" and then select the appropriate date option from the list.
By following these steps, you can easily view and sort your photos and videos by their create date in OneDrive across different platforms.

Unfortunately the instructions that Microsoft provides (that you may have copied in, thanks) for the Web App don's seem to apply - there is no sort option. It is so frustrating that something this basic is not available and obvious. The only arrows are to toggle the view.

The instructions supplied by Microsoft work for the OneDrive desktop app. However, the app has to sort the pictures every time I open my pictures folder. Could there be a way to reindex my pictures so that they are sorted by date (and not by name) every time I open my pictures folder ? Sorting them takes 5 seconds every single time ..
