My company is experiencing an intermittent problem where sometimes a OneDrive for Business file shared with the setting "Anyone with this link can edit" prompts the user the file is being shared with...

- Uploading a video to stream classic allows to select organization and sharing videos is more consistent
- However, Stream Classic is retiring so we need to know Stream (Sharepoint) which is very similar to onedrive and I experienced an issue sharing a link from Stream and onedrive where some users couldn't not access despite access to the organization was selected. Looking for a solution still. Thanks.

Raul_B_ I am amazed that this problem still exists after years and numerous complaints. This does not seem as if it should be a very difficult issue to scope out by Microsoft and apply a fix. OneDrive has been around a long time.
I started using OneDrive when Amazon gave up its AmazonDrive as of EOY. This inconsistent bug about asking people to sign in, when it's an "Anyone with Link can View" link-share is frustrating beyond belief.
At this point I would recommend OneDrive to no one. I will be researching other products, as this product (and its support group) doesn't seem to cut it.
- Jimbotron3000Sep 26, 2023Copper ContributorThis problem has been reported on at least nine separate threads, none of which has a solution. It is clearly a serious bug. Microsoft is clearly ignoring it. I have opened a ticket since my org pays for MS365 but we will see if they actually do anything about it. If so, I'll post here again.
If you care to share in everyone's frustration, here are all the threads:

NINE threads and no solution from Microsoft...- ITMgr5Sep 28, 2023Copper ContributorI posted here over a year ago about this problem. Thinking it must have been fixed by now, I set up a OneDrive folder for a family gathering to plan meals, share photos etc. Several of them ended up having to create Microsoft accounts in order to access. "Can we just use Google?" one of them complained. Yeah, next time we'll use Google. 😞

Unfortunately, I cannot disagree. As an aside, I had hosted exchange and one drive. I also made the mistake of implementing 2FA and did not provide myself a secondary backdoor. Things were fine till a bout 8 month ago, when MS decided to become aggressive in promoting their phone Authentication App. Unfortunately for me, I had issues with access to my exchange account. As I had dome in the past, I wiped it on my phone, and attempted to reinstall. Their system forced me to rely on a code they sent to my authenticator app, which I had not set up previously. Now I'm locked out of everything MS on my personal and side business. The day job I have has had issues, but I'm not the IT guy for that job. Thankfully.
Point being, I have no good words for MS right now.

Wondering if anyone has opened a case with Microsoft recently, and what the official response is?
