What versions of MS Teams allows for external collaborators?

I understand you want to confirm what version of Teams allows for external collaboration.
Please note that both the new and classic teams allow external collaboration and irrespective of the license you have, as far as you have access to teams, External collaboration is allowed.
To set up external collaboration, kindly follow the steps below.
Configure settings in the portal.

Steps in this article may vary slightly based on the portal you start from.
Sign in to the https://entra.microsoft.com/ as at least a https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/entra/identity/role-based-access-control/permissions-reference#external-identity-provider-administrator.
Browse to Identity > External Identities > External collaboration settings.
Under Guest user access, choose the level of access you want guest users to have:
Under Guest invite settings, choose the appropriate settings:
On the teams admin center,
- expand Users, and then select External access.
- Under Teams and Skype for Business users in external organizations, ensure that the organizations that you want to collaborate with are not blocked.
